One night there was this lily that had grown and bloomed, and the light coming from inside this home shone out onto it, illuminating it, dimly, yet enough to highlight its presence in the night. The pale flower’s petals stood in the presence of the light with a kind of slow, patient divinity; a glow of sorts. Here I have painted it for you to see under the same circumstances with which I noticed it. I hope it shares its secret message with you. Is it secret? I don’t know. Maybe you will.
